  1. Inspiring Creativity One Stroke

My name is Brian McGee, and I’d love to bring a dynamic, hands-on Creative Arts Program to your school for students aged 7–11 and 11–16.

The McGee Art School is a space where creativity flourishes, confidence takes root, and artists of all ages and skill levels discover the power of visual storytelling.

My school is more than just a place to learn how to draw—it’s a space to unlock my potential, cultivate my artistic discipline, and build a pathway toward professional opportunities.
I bring over three decades of hands-on industry experience to every workshop and course.

From working as a character artist at The Walt Disney Company to designing for Marvel, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, DreamWorks, HBO, NBC, MTV, and Warner Bros., I have carved a lasting name in the worlds of visual arts, animation, toy design, and visual storytelling.

As a graduate of New York's High School of Art & Design and the School of Visual Arts, my background is rooted in classical art appreciation—especially the Baroque period—and modern visual mediums like photography, animation, and digital illustration.
As an African-American artist, I understand the importance of representation for children and aspiring creatives of all races.

At The McGee Art School, I believe every student—regardless of background—deserves the chance to discover their creative voice and see how far it can take them.

Why Art Is the Perfect Extra-Curricular Choice for Your Child’s Growth

Art is the spark that ignites your child's imagination and unlocks their incredible potential.

It is a joyful, expressive journey that allows young minds to explore, create, and dream without limits. Through art, children discover their unique voice, develop confidence, and learn to see the beauty and possibilities in the world around them.

Every brushstroke, drawing, or sculpture is a step toward building a vibrant, imaginative, and resilient spirit—empowering your child to do great and wonderful things.

Engaging in art encourages self-expression, allowing kids to understand and communicate their feelings, fears, and dreams in a safe, supportive environment. This process fosters emotional intelligence, helping them build confidence and resilience.

Participating in artistic activities also nurtures essential skills such as creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving—abilities that are invaluable both inside and outside the classroom and can make positive impacts as follows:-
  • Encourages Self-Expression and Emotional Intelligence: Art provides a safe outlet for children to understand and communicate their feelings, helping them build confidence and emotional resilience.
  • Fosters Creativity and Critical Thinking: Engaging in artistic activities stimulates imagination and problem-solving skills, nurturing innovative thinking that benefits all areas of life.
  • Builds Patience, Discipline, and Perseverance: Working on art projects teaches children the value of effort, focus, and dedication—qualities that translate to success in school and beyond.
  • Enhances Social Skills and Empathy: Collaborative art projects and sharing ideas help develop teamwork, respect for others’ perspectives, and emotional awareness.
  • Lays a Foundation for Lifelong Learning and Success: Art enriches the mind and heart, cultivating confidence, resilience, and a passion for discovery that can inspire your child throughout their life.

Overall, engaging in art enriches their minds and hearts, laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning, confidence, and happiness. Choosing art as an extracurricular helps your child grow into a well-rounded, innovative, and emotionally resilient individual prepared to succeed in all areas of life.
