About Brian McGee
Brian McGee was born in Mineola, New York in 1970.
To say that art is in Brian's blood is an understatement.
From the age of 2, Brian expressed an unusual passion and talent for drawing, probably due to the exposure to his father's raw talent having spent hours watching him draw portraits and doodles. Quite clearly, Brian's propensity for all things artistic and creative was intrinsic to his overall future development.
Although in his youth, Brian participated in many extra curricular art programs and his formal training did not begin until he was accepted into New York's High school of Art & Design. It was there where he focused into the path of Illustration.
Brian continued his education with a 2 -year stint at the School of Visual Arts in New York. During this time he acquired his love for Baroque art and photography.
He started his professional career as a toy designer for the now defunct Happiness Express Toy company.
For 3 years he fine tuned his craft and developed his work ethic.
In 1996, Brian was hired as a character artist by the Walt Disney Company and relocated to Burbank California thus further refining his skills. To Brian this was his second college. After spending 5 years with Disney, Brian decided to delve into a new more independent career.
A self proclaimed cinemaphile, Brian busied himself with the idea of becoming a storyboard artist, thus marrying his 2 passions.
To date, Brian's credentials include working with several well-known directors on music videos, commercial spots and major film and television projects for Disney, Nickelodeon, Turner Network, Cartoon Network, MTV, Adult Swim, HBO, AMC, CW, Fox, Marvel, NBC, Warner Bros, Sony Entertainment, Universal, Disney+, DreamWorks working directly with the Directors including Rod Lurie, Kari Skogland, Ava DuVernay, Misha Green, Jason Bateman, Jonathan Frakes, Robert Duncan McNeil, Neema Barnette, Juel Taylor, Allison Liddi-Brown, Tyler Perry, Len Wiseman, Kay Cannon, the late John Singleton, Anthony Hemingway, Jeff January, Ari Sandel, Oz Scott, Michael Satrazemis, Alrick Riley, Michael Dougherty, Rosemary Rodriguez, Krystin Ver Linden, Tommy Harper, Scott Peters, Craig Siebels, Liz Friedlander, Dean Parisot, Avi Youbian and many other luminaries within the film and TV industry.
